I do probably need to warn you about today's post though, it is a little creepy. This is a spider that was hanging out outside my back door the other night as he was preparing to eat his catch of the day!

Day 30: Predator and Prey
Here it is! The last post of my 30 day "photo of the day challenge" (ok, so it was a little more than 30 days)! I have decided from here on out to do a "photo of the week" instead. So be sure to stop by every week to check it out!

Day 29: Go Fetch
I love springtime. It's so nice to finally be able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine! Today, Gary and I were able to play fetch with the dogs in our freshly mowed backyard. Here are some of the highlights.

Day 23: Chico
I've gotten a couple of days behind on my posts but I have plenty of pictures to make up for it! My husband and I spent the weekend in the mountains of NC so I have tons of photos from our hiking trips. But first, here is a picture of a sweet Yorkie that my parents have been dog sitting for the past few days whose name is Chico. Chico is an energetic but very sweet little dog. We got to see Chico on our way out of town on Friday and he decided to pose for a brief photo session!

Day 13: Man's Best Friend
It has long been said that dogs are man's best friend. Well, these two are certainly evidence to that. This is my dad and our dog Rocky. Being the only men out of four women in our household, these two have been inseparable since Rocky was a puppy. Rocky is a black lab although he's starting to go gray as he gets older. Rocky celebrated his 9th birthday this past fall and we hope he has many more!

Picture of the Day
I'm sure many of you have heard of Project 365. It is a challenge to take a photo everyday for a year to document your experiences and offer a unique glimpse into an individual's everyday life. Well, I'm not sure if I can commit to 365 days (and this year has 366!) so for now, I am going to commit to 30. That's right, at least one new picture everyday for the next month. At that time, we'll see how things are progressing and, if I think I can keep it up, I will!
So today's picture of the day is called "Rain, rain go away!" My two dogs, Sarge and Copper have been cooped up in the house for the past 3 days because of incessant rain and backyard flooding. I think Sarge's expression in today's picture sums up his feelings on the situation. Let me know your thoughts on today's picture, project 365 (or 30), or if you have any ideas about what I could include in future pictures of the day!! Also, if you've done a similar project in the past, how did it go for you? Did you complete it? Did you find it helped your creativity? I can't wait to hear from you!!

Dog Days
Those of you who know me know that I am a dog lover so, I thought it was time for a post dedicated to my furry babies, Sarge and Copper.
Sarge is an energetic 4 year old welsh springer spaniel (we think). He is a good big brother to Copper and he works hard to keep our house and yard safe from squirrels, other dogs, and strangers. He is named in honor of Sarge Frye Field, the former home of the University of South Carolina baseball team.
Copper is a typical basset hound. He loves to run around the yard playing with his big brother, but not as much as he loves curling up on the couch and refusing to move for anything less than a yummy treat. Copper is named after the hound dog in the Disney movie "Fox and the Hound" and he recently celebrated his 2nd birthday. Both Sarge and Copper were adopted from animal shelters and our family would not be complete without them! So hang on tight, you're about to encounter a whole lotta cuteness!!
